Ukrainian Institute of national memory is preparing an appeal to the police and to the Prosecutor General on the fact of vandalism because of the destruction of graffiti times square, on the facade of the store on the street Hrushevsky in Kyiv.
This was announced by Director of the Institute Volodymyr viatrovych to Facebook Sunday, September 3.
He stressed that the graffiti on Grushevskogo is a monument of history according to the order of the Ministry of culture from 15.10.2014 № 869.
According to him, their destruction is a crime and subject to part 2 of article 298 of the Criminal code – deliberate illegal destruction, destruction, damage to cultural heritage site or part thereof is a fine of up to 2350 UAH or restriction or deprivation of liberty up to 3 years with a possible prohibition to hold certain positions or to conduct business.
As reported, the representatives of the store Emporium on the street Hrushevsky in Kyiv erased from the walls of the building in which it is located, the graffiti that was made during the revolution of Dignity.
On graffiti with Patriotic appeals were depicted Taras Shevchenko, Lesia Ukraine and Ivan Franko.
