The Commission on citizenship issues under the President reviewed the materials Artemenko on April 25.
The State migration service of Ukraine confirmed that independent MP Andrew Artemenko deprived of Ukrainian citizenship. The corresponding statement published on the Agency’s website.
“The termination of citizenship of Ukraine in cases provided for by law is a constitutional norm. Grounds for loss of citizenship of Ukraine listed in article 19 of the law of Ukraine “On citizenship of Ukraine”. The justification, in particular, include the voluntary acquisition of citizen of Ukraine of citizenship of another state, if at the time of such acquisition he reached the age of majority”, – said the Agency.
Regarding the termination of Ukrainian citizenship Artemenko was provided by the Prosecutor General of Ukraine and the Commission on citizenship issues under the President of Ukraine to consider on April 25.
Earlier Artemenko said that the canadian passport was cancelled in 2014.
