The demand for cell phones in Russia is stepping up the pace

Sale classic cell phones in Russia has always been quite high, even in the era of smartphones, but nothing lasts forever, and they began to fall. As noted by analysts of the Mobile Research Group and the newspaper “Vedomosti”, the rate of decline of sales started to grow.

According to statistics, in the first half of this year from 100% of sold in Russia of means of communication on mobile phones accounted for about 26%. On the one hand, that’s a lot, but still it is 5.7% less than in the first half of last year. It is obvious that all the fault of smartphones, because every year they are becoming more powerful, and now for $100 you can buy quite a modern model, even with support networks of the fourth generation, if you order from China.

The traditionally high demand for mobile phones remains among pensioners, who do not wish to move on to smartphones and don’t want to use the mobile Internet. This equally applies to migrants who need an inexpensive means of communication, and who have no time for “EK” from the screen of a handheld device. Analyst Eldar Murtazin said that in the second half of 2017, the share of cell phones can be reduced up to 20%, after which the rate of decline in sales for some time to slow down, exactly as long as the budget smartphones will become more accessible.
