“The dark tower” is delayed again

Sony Pictures again postponed the date of the premiere long-awaited film adaptation of the same literary cycle by Stephen king “the Dark Tower”. Not for long, but they can do it again. So, the film moved from 28 July to 4 August.

Recall, if all went according to plan, we would by this time have seen the picture of Nicholas Arsala, because originally she was supposed to go to ECRI 13 Jan 2017, then the Prime Minister pushed to February 17. And continued to kick until 28 July. But as you can see, and did not stop. Grumbling because of this, of course, makes no sense. Sony’s not doing this out of whim. What? There can be two options. Either the film is still far from complete, the the date.

The first option looks pretty convincing, bearing in mind that only a few weeks ago was held for more shooting. In the end, the movie still no teaser, no trailer. Only at CinemaCon showed here are a few film clips and everything, and that often means that work on the special effects and editing is not finished yet.

For comparison, a new adaptation of “It” already has got a good teaser trailer, despite the fact that the tape should be out later — on 7 September this year.

On the other hand, it is just about a week. It is unlikely that such period of time that will decide, and to bring the material to mind the founders have four months. Perhaps the reason for the postponement of the premiere is in a bad neighborhood with other high-profile pictures like “Dunkirk” by Christopher Nolan and “Valerian” by Luc Besson, starting in American theaters on July 21. That is, Sony is attempting to avoid competition by making the “Dark tower” last big film of the summer.

In this picture is a big responsibility. It is not only adaptation of this magnus opus in the works of Stephen king, and the fans waiting for more than a decade, will break it for any school. “The dark tower” must be the beginning of a new cinematic franchise, or even an entire Kingovskoy universe in the movie. So all these improvements and moving in dates is not surprising. The creators must meet very high expectations.
