Ukraine’s permanent representative to the UN stressed that the number of Russian military equipment in Crimea exceeds all acceptable limits.
“Now the whole Peninsula into a huge military base. I think the Russian military forces there now even more than in Soviet times. We are talking about the latest missile systems, and everything else. The amount of military equipment in the Crimea and around now exceeds all permissible limits, including agreements limiting Russia’s military presence on the southern flank,” – said Yelchenko.
According to him, Russia is trying to “teach the world public, expert and geographical opinion to the belief that the Crimea is already Russia, and all – the question no longer exists.”
“In that resolution (about the Crimea – ed.) contains a separate paragraph that obliges the UN system to call the Crimea temporarily occupied by Russia”, – said Yelchenko.
