In the film of the comic book adaptations are now flourishing, but, fortunately, not all Directors are mindlessly stamp superhero movies in latex costumes – some try to experiment. One of the most interesting genre experiments now turns Director Josh Boone, taking “New mutants” – the first full-fledged horror movie about the X-Men. The creators have already managed to intrigue a powerful trailer and an entertaining promotional video, and we, in turn, briefly described each of the characters in the movie.
What will look like “New mutants” in the mood? The answer to this question knows Stacy Snyder of 20th Century Fox:
“New mutants” talk about teenagers who are just starting to realize their powers. Mutants starts “awkward age” and they have no control emotions, which is why they are dangerous. The only solution is to put them in one place, as in “the Breakfast Club” or in a special institution in “one Flew over the cuckoo’s nest”. It will protect people on the outside, but the atmosphere inside is strained to the limit. Genre thus can be defined as a film about a haunted house with teenagers who have cleared the hormones. It’s more like “the Shining”than “we’re teenagers, let’s save the world”.
It “Lights” with mutants, I would like to expect from film Buna, so such a statement invigorates and warms up even more interest in the film. Which, incidentally, may be the first part in a planned trilogy.
