The court satisfied the claim of Prosecutor’s office on the previous decision of the Austrian court that had refused extradition.
Supreme land court of Vienna has authorized the extradition of the Ukrainian businessman Dmitry Firtash in the USA, reports journalist Simon & Schuster.
It is reported that the court satisfied the claim of Prosecutor’s office on the previous decision of the Austrian court that had refused extradition.
“The court in Vienna granted the extradition request of the United States, a decision against Dmytro Firtash. The judge is currently explaining the decision”, – the journalist wrote.
As you know, in the United States Firtash accused that he with the help of bribes totaling $ 18.5 million wanted to get permission to mine titanium in India. The tycoon faces up to 50 years in prison and confiscation of all assets.
Land court of Vienna in spring 2015 banned the extradition of Firtash, pointing to the inability to exclude political motivation of the extradition request of the Ukrainian side of the United States. The Prosecutor’s office in Vienna had filed an appeal against this decision.
