Their houseboat consists of several platforms with a blooming garden, greenhouses, a dance floor, a gallery, workshop and a garage for boats.
Artists Wayne Adams and Catherine king decided to hold a family lives in solitude off the coast of the canadian island of Vancouver and 25 years ago started the construction of a private house on the water called the “Bay of freedom”.
“I would never trade your house in the countryside for an apartment near the hospital. I will die here. I am not afraid. Over the years I have often heard from people that they wouldn’t live here because they are afraid to drown or be eaten by predators. And I’m not afraid. And it’s honest. We made the choice…,” said Wayne Adams.
However, in Tofino is a hospital, and in the event of an emergency the coast guard can get to the “Bay of freedom” in just 6 minutes.
