Gas transmission system operator Ukrtransgaz company opens customs warehouse on the basis of 10 gas storage facilities, allowing traders of more than 1000 days of storing natural gas in Ukrainian underground gas storages (UGS) without customs clearance procedures.
This was reported by the press service of the company.
Previously, the customs clearance of natural gas transported on the customs territory of Ukraine for its storage in underground storage facilities, could only be carried out under the customs regime “transit”. The provisions of the Customs code of Ukraine set the timing of the transit by pipeline transport – 31 days. Such terms were not economically feasible for most foreign gas traders, the company said.
“From now on, the customs clearance of gas, which will come from abroad for storage in Ukrainian underground storage facilities is carried out in the “customs warehouse”, – noted in the Company.
The establishment of such a warehouse allows companies, including foreign ones, to store gas in Ukraine for 1095 days without paying any taxes and customs charges when the further transportation of natural gas from the territory of Ukraine.
“Thus, Ukrainian legislation eliminated all legal barriers to the provision of resident services for the storage of natural gas in underground storage facilities,” concluded the company.
