A system of social ranking in China began to experience in 2010.
Several million of Chinese citizens were denied the opportunity to travel due to low social ranking. As of April 2018 lack of a rating of reliability has caused the cancellation of 4.25 million trips on high-speed trains and of 11.14 million flights on a plane.
The electronic system of social ranking in China began to experience in 2010, and by 2014 to introduce massively. Law-abiding and trustworthy citizens with outstanding performance rating, receive a number of benefits such as the chance to get a good job, the priority for maintenance in state institutions and the ability to get a loan. At the same time, a traffic violation, criticism of the government in social networks and written denunciations of neighbours have a negative impact on ranking, and deprive the citizen of such basic rights as the ability to travel.
“An improved system of social credit is necessary in order to bring the discredited people to the full bankruptcy […] Retribution for unreliability need to improve, otherwise people will continue to behave in the same spirit,” said a former member of China’s State Council HOU Yunchun.
