The chamber said the growth in food prices, despite good crop

The auditor of the accounts chamber Alexey Kaulbars said that, despite the good harvest, food prices in Russia continue to grow. “If we compare July of this year and July last year, the growth in volume of agricultural products amounted to 6%, but it is necessary to note and growth of food prices included in the consumer basket. So, from January 1 of the current year rose apples, onions, carrots, frozen fish, rice, wheat flour, rye bread,” said Kaulbars, speaking in the Duma.

The auditor emphasized that, “given the positive results of the harvest campaign, the situation on the consumer level of concern”.

So the auditor of audit chamber said the Minister of agriculture of the Russian Federation Dmitry Patrushev, speaking in the framework of “government hour” in the state Duma. The Minister reported to deputies that, despite the bad weather, agriculture continues to show “good results”. In particular, Patrushev said that the grain harvest this year is expected to reach 118 million tonnes, and forecast wheat harvest increased from 75 million to 78 million tons.
