In an attack by unidentified militants killed nine people
Nine people were killed in an attack by unidentified militants in El-Kerak on the West of Jordan.
Today, 18 December, unidentified armed men attacked police in El-Kerak on the West of Jordan. After this they took refuge in the popular tourist ancient Crusader castle, where for several hours he continued to fire at the police.
As stated by the Governor of El-Karak, the attack is “a terrorist group”. However, the responsibility for the attack has not yet assumed none of the terrorist organization.
According to Reuters, the victims of the attackers were nine people, including five policemen, three civilians and tourist from Canada. Another 29 people were hospitalized, some with serious injuries.
Later it became known about the beginning of the operation to free foreign tourists who were held hostage in a medieval castle of El-Karak, which hid the unknown perpetrators of the attack on the police. As the newspaper notes, as a result of operation of law enforcement officers from the castle managed to knock about 6 fighters.
It is unclear how many tourists can stay in the castle of the crusaders.
