Repeated violations of the ceasefire clearly indicate the need for a more substantial military assistance.
The current situation in Ukraine is radically different from the situation two years ago, so Canada should finally give Ukraine lethal weapons, said the shadow Minister of defense of Canada James Bezan
“The aggression has escalated, along the Russian-Ukrainian border has increased the number of military exercises, and this is of great concern. In addition, we all witnessed escalation over the past two months. Other countries begin to call to give Ukraine a weapon,” said Bezan.
He added that now the official Kiev asks Canada other type of weapons than before.
“Together with our NATO allies, we expect will come more requests for a lethal weapon that Ukraine had not asked when we were in power, and which was not considered necessary due to the presence of the Minsk agreements”, – said the Deputy.
According to him, the regular violation of ceasefire creates the need to provide Ukraine with a weapon.
“Considering the constant violation of the ceasefire, we should not only train Ukrainian soldiers, but also adequately equip them to give an opportunity to defend Ukrainian territory and the Ukrainian people”, – said Bazan.
