The Cabinet wants to increase spending on defense and security

The Cabinet proposed to Parliament to allocate more of 2.66 billion on defense and security.

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine registered in the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine the draft law “On amendments to the state budget in 2017”, which proposes to allocate an additional of 2.66 billion UAH for financing of defence and security.

Government bill No. 6600, which was registered in Parliament on June 21, provides for an increase of expenditures of the General Fund to Finance immediate needs on defense and security of the state, including connected with antiterrorist operation in the amount of 2 billion 662.5 million UAH.

However, according to the bill, 1.5 billion are to be allocated to the National police allowance with charges to cover shortages in the payment of cash security for the police (547,0 million UAH), as well as logistical support (953,0 million UAH);

352, 8 thous million UAH to the Ministry of defence for the payment of a lump sum in case of death, injury and disability of soldiers (249,8 million UAH),

utilities & energy (100 million UAH),

as well as providing training and participation of national team of Ukraine in 2017 during the international sports competitions “Games of the unconquered” (3 million UAH).

Also, 100 million UAH are to be allocated to the security Service of Ukraine in the cash collateral accruals for servicemen of special units and members of ATU;

6,3 million UAH – to the State special service of transport for the purchase of food (5.3 million) and drugs (UAH 1 million);

9.4 million UAH of administration of State service of special communication and protection of information on providing government communication officers in accordance with the law.

400 million UAH are to be allocated to the administration of the state border service on the cash collateral accruals for participants ATO (100 million UAH), as well as activities on engineering and technical arrangement of the border (300 million UAH).

In addition, the bill provides for allocation of UAH 100 million from the foreign intelligence Service on labor;

177 million UAH – the State service for emergency situations on the cash collateral with charges for lifeguards and firefighters (UAH 100 million) and for measures of safety (77 million UAH);

17 million UAH – the Main intelligence Department of the Ministry of defense for payment of a lump sum in case of death, injury and disability of soldiers (8.6 million UAH), as well as utilities and energy (8,4 million UAH).
