The Cabinet announced the reduction in the number of poor

Andriy Reva claims that the poverty rate in Ukraine decreased significantly.

In Ukraine the number of poor people whose income is below a real living wage, decreased to 39.4% from 54.5%. Such data was announced by Minister of social policy Andrei Reva.

“According to the State statistics service and according to the procedures used by international organizations that assess the level of poverty in the country, the poverty rate in Ukraine fell to 39.4% from 54.5%,” – said the Minister.

Reva also said that among the employed the number of persons with incomes below the actual subsistence minimum decreased to 26.1% 45,4%.

As reported, the Cabinet plans to revise the minimum wage upwards to 4100 hryvnia not later than the third quarter of 2018.
