The brain that couldn’t die twice

In the distant 1962, the screens out the horror film is now under the funny sounding name of “the Brain that couldn’t die” (The Brain That wouldn’t Die). It was the story of the mad scientist, the girl who was killed in a car accident. The scientist managed to save the life of her head, and then he started looking for his beloved a proper body.

Even while the movie is not to claim originality, presenting a blueprint for movies about the transplantation of various body parts like released two years earlier, “it”, which, in turn, was a remake of the eponymous painting in 1924. And in the same 1962, has released another version of the same story, “Hands of a stranger”. So even in those years, “the Brain…” was not some great event, and our time was almost forgotten.

About as “Brain…” is the fact that filmed this movie was in 1959, but the release was waiting for this for three years. More surprising that in the 21st century there are people who want to make a remake.

Several young filmmakers in 2016, has staged a campaign to raise funds for the shooting of the remake on Kickstarter. Derek Charles (Director) and Hank Huffman (writer) needed 70 thousand dollars – and they put them together. In December 2016, they reported to the public that is about to finish shooting, but then there was a lull until spring of 2017, when it became clear that the collected funds to finish the job, and Carl Huffman is still not enough, so they had to seek investors.

However, it seems that the project still held. That is not surprising – the movie with the same name CAN’T DIE!

Shooting (or already dosemki) are in Potrland, Oregon. And we have video from the shoot photo and the first few frames. While the premiere is planned in 2018.
