Next Sunday is a momentous day for all cthulhulover. 20 Aug 127th birthday of the writer Howard Phillips Lovecraft, even if he does not do it in our world, but somewhere on Huggate. The impact of this person on the literature of horror is difficult to overestimate, “the Myths of Cthulhu” eventually became not only an important part of horror culture, but also firmly stuck to the tentacles of the media space. During his life Lovecraft could not boast of great popularity, but now every other student posts in social networks memchiki about Cthulhu.
Writer, journalist and poet Andrew Orlowski offers Muscovites to celebrate the birthday of the master of themed evening. He’s going to give a lecture on the life and work of the writer, and then enjoy reading in the dark. Here is what Andrew himself:
There are writers who leave behind not just a literary work, and the whole artistic worlds. One of the most solid such worlds, I think the world of horror Lovecraft. Dark mythology, with its Pantheon of gods, Holy books, cities, and heroes are made of several dozen overlapping texts and talk about these texts and the relationships between them, read a few stories aloud.
