The winners of the photo contest National Geographic Nature Photographer of the Year 2016.
The best shots were chosen from thousands of snapshots, showing the strangeness and diversity of nature that surrounds us.
The main victory and the title of “photographer of the year” was won by G. Lacour, depicting the migration of sardines along the wild coast of South Africa. He will get the Grand prize: a 10-day trip for two to the Galapagos Islands with National Geographic expedition.
In each category identified three winners. For the first place contestants will receive $ 2,500; second place – 750 and a signed book from National Geographic; third place – $ 500.
