A US citizen from the state of new York Parvej Ahmed was arrested on charges of attempting to travel to Syria to join the terrorist group “Islamic state”.
The accused must first appear before the court on Tuesday.
“On his arrival in Saudi Arabia the defendant tried to go to Syria to get to the ISIS controlled territory. The accused was sent back to the United States on August 28, where he was arrested at the international airport John F. Kennedy in new York,” according to a press release from U.S. Department of justice.
