The second racket of Ukraine Lesya Tsurenko to reach the second round of the representative clay tournament in Rome.
In the Italian capital Tsurenko came with a burning desire to break the 7-match series of defeats that started with the triumph over Kristina Mladenovic in the final of the tournament in Acapulco.
A lot contributed to the plans from Kiev – in the first round, Tsurenko was expecting 470-I racket of the world Deborah Chiesa received from organizers of tournament wild card into the main draw. Ukrainka expected to beat the debutant of the WTA tournaments, but the match wasn’t it a cakewalk.
At the start of the match Tsurenko poorly reminded of a favorite – Les twice lost his serve, and Chiesa took the lead 5:1. Tsurenko made one back break, then played three set-Bola, and then won three consecutive games and with the battle took the first set.
In the second set Tsurenko organized two break, and his serve played each of the three break points.
For an exit in 1/8 final of tournament WTA Premier 5 Lesia, Tsurenko will face the winner of the match between Venus Williams and Yaroslava Shvedova.
