The first racket of Ukraine Elina Svitolina another step closer to the title on clay tournament in Istanbul.
In the quarterfinals Svitolina met with the second racket of Romania Soranou of Kirsty, who is in the current WTA ranking 66th position. Ukrainian last year have already beaten the opponent on the ground – today Svitolina also was stronger, but instead this match was a good test before the key fights.
The fate of the first set decided an early break from Svitolina. Cirstea twice was getting closer to a reverse break, but the first racket of the tournament coolly held his serve.
During the second set, Svitolina went ahead twice with a break, but Cirstea came back in the game. Fortunately, the Ukrainian once successfully played on reception, and in the tenth game of a match-bol is great and the execution of the flick has guaranteed itself a spot in the semifinals of Istanbul.
In the final Elina Svitolina will face 97th-ranked Jana Cepelovo that in a dramatic three-set winner is duel, second 2:6, 2:5 snatched victory over 16-year-old Ukrainian girl Diana Yastremsky.
