The Swedish Parliament held exercises in case of war
The Swedish Parliament for the first time in 20 years spent training in case of war, said the speaker of the Swedish Parliament urban Ahlin.
The study was carried out at a classified location outside Stockholm with the participation of the military delegation of 50 parliamentarians.
“Military delegation has a much broader mandate for decision-making and the organization of debates. This is a war, decisions have to be made much faster than in times of peace,” Alin said, adding that the preparations for the exercise took a year and a half.
The last time Swedish parliamentarians conducted similar exercises in 1997. To new exercise prompted the deterioration of the security situation.
We will remind that Sweden is planning to resume the military draft in connection with the shortage of volunteers for military service and growing foreign policy challenges. In 2018 it is planned to call for military service 4,000 people.
