“Because there will be two large-scale exercises at the same time, there is always the risk of incidents,” warned an expert in military Affairs Sweden Jorgen Elvind.
Aurora 17 exercises are designed to strengthen the ability of Sweden to withstand a potential attack. In the exercises, which will be held from 11 to 29 September, will be attended by 20 thousand.
September 14-20 will be the active phase of the exercises “West-2017”. Moscow claims that in them will take part not less than 13 thousand soldiers, but Western experts believe that in reality there will be about 100 thousand. According to Lithuanian foreign intelligence, the likely scenario is an armed conflict with NATO.
