The leader popular Ukrainian band Okean Elzy Svyatoslav Vakarchuk commented on how refers to people who emigrate from Ukraine.
Svyatoslav Vakarchuk, who is utilise in the United States and was a fellow of the Yale World Fellow 2015, in an interview with the American Russian-language edition of the ForumDaily spoke about the Ukrainian immigrants.
The leader of the group Okean Elzy announced that does not condemn people who leave our country.
Expect from the fact that poor, all the while developing country with lots of political and economic crises, the population, especially the young, will sit and wait when this is all over, it would be primitive,“ – said Vakarchuk.
Also Sviatoslav reminded of the great potato famine in Ireland, which in North America has left more than 30% of the population. The musician stressed that despite the crisis, Ireland is now one of the most affluent countries. But, in order to become a successful government, it took more than 100 years.

“I’m not implying that all who remained in Ukraine, will sit and wait for 100 years, but say that emigration is possibly unpleasant for the state, losing its progressive and active population, is an inevitable process. Another thing is that, in my opinion, a lot of the most powerful (which the Americans call challenge oriented, as pioneers of the Wild West) — just to stay in the country and to create new conditions, to develop the country, even in the difficulties, to continue to say: look, we were able to make their country better,“ said Svyatoslav Vakarchuk.
