These black and white pictures were made by photographer Axel Koester (Axel Koester) in Los Angeles, they provide insight into the life of one of the most famous American bands of the 1990-ies.
The images show members of the West Side Longos — Latino-American street gang that was associated with the Mexican drug cartels. Along with the North Side Longos, they formed Varrio Longo 13 the biggest gang involved in drug trafficking and associated with the Mexican mafia. Formed in the 1960-ies in long beach, the band was a single entity, but after internal squabbles broke up into several small groups.
