Is-comes a long-awaited feature-length adaptation of one of the most terrifying novels of Stephen king “It” (It). It’s time to think about the book and, of course, the iconic clown-monster Pennywise. Fortunately the author does not just talk about it in interviews.
In the network appeared the gluing of two video performances of the writer. The first part of the video was recorded in November 2013 in Hamburg. King talks about how he came up with a way Pennywise:
When I was in Colorado, I had the idea to write a very large book, which proved to be from all monsters. I thought, so if people think I’m an author writing horror so I never believed, I just “writer”, I thought, let’s get I all monsters, which only you can. Take the vampire, werewolf and even a mummy! Mummy I’ve never been afraid, because she’s like family to us already, but to walk so to walk. It’s not terribly frightening monster, but it needs to be in this book, because it’s a classic. And then I thought: “There must be one terrible, horrible, boorish creature, which connects all the others. The thing you don’t want to see that you want to scream. Well, I asked myself: “What most frightens the children?” And the answer was: “Clowns”.
So I created a Clown Pennywise. Then showed up on the horizon, the Studio ABC. And they said that they wanted to remove the book mini-series, and what is the role Pennywise they want to invite Tim Curry. I thought [then] that is a strange idea, but it works and this film scared a whole generation of young people, made them afraid of clowns. but clowns are originally used to frighten children.
The second part of this video is an excerpt from the transmission Conan O’brien, to visit which the king looked in 2005 to advertise his book, “Man from Colorado”. Leading asked king, did the same one to be afraid of clowns. And let the writer answered “no,” he simultaneously told anecdote:
I was traveling, promoting the book, and came back home… the Plane started moving on the runway… and then stopped again. The hatch is again opened, and in walked Ronald McDonald. In full dress he sat next to me – because all sorts of weird things to me and stick, I’m like a magnet for like – and now, he’s near me, orange hair, orange dress shoes long of nine yards. The plane takes off, goes off the button “do Not smoke”, Ronald pulls out a pack of “Kent”, lights and demands that the flight attendant brought him a gin and tonic… I said the only thing that occurred to me at that moment: “How did you even come from?”. And he said, “Of Mcdonaldland” – and this is a real place in Chicago.
