State of emergency in Russia: the accident occurred at a nuclear power plant

On one of the turbo there is a short circuit.

In Russia at Beloyarsk nuclear power plant (NPP) accident, resulting in a reduced power one of the power units.

According to the report, at the third power unit of Beloyarsk NPP there is a short circuit on one of the three turbine generators.

“The third unit is arranged in such a way that there are three isolated from each other pair of turbines and generators. One of them is shorted to ground. It was followed by an automatic reset of power – began to blow off steam. In the end the unit was offloaded to third. The situation is unpleasant, but not critical, – said the employee of state Corporation “Rosatom” familiar with the situation.

As a result of the accident, the power unit was reduced from 619 MW to 402 MW.

It is reported that the locals in the morning heard a loud prolonged noise.
