In early September, has started shooting a new picture of Svyatoslav Podvoiskogo, the Director of “Queen of spades” and “Bride”. It was called “Lake of the dead: mermaid”, and this fact at once sets you in a mythological mood, at the gloomy Slavic legends. The official synopsis confirms that it is not in vain:
Our time. A young couple encounters a mysterious paranormal events — like something infernal invaded their lives. It’s like they’re cursed. Trying to understand what they are pursuing, the main character suddenly finds out that her boyfriend met on the shore of lake of a strange young girl, and then with each day it becomes worse and worse. Heroes find out what it is behaving like mermaids — not buried drowned, wishing to take revenge on the world. The heroine is forced to fight with a mystical creature — because the mermaid is back at her boyfriend again and again until you get it forever…
Well, that sounds interesting. And can not but rejoice that the Russian horror film-makers are increasingly turning to our mythology. There are in fact, if you dig, much of the material for “dark” stories – upload. And no hateful Ghost is not necessary.
This summer, the film project was presented at the pitching of the cinema Fund and eventually received government support. The producers dzhanik Faiziev (the one that removed the “Turkish gambit”), Alexander Bondarev (“the game”), Ivan Kapitonov (“Dislike”, “Route built”) and Rafael, Minasbekyan (“Hunting the devil”).
On the script worked Podgaevsky and Kapitonov and debutante Natalia Dubova. Among the actors are familiar from the previous films of the Director the person: Victoria Agalakova (“Bride”) and Igor Khripunov (“Bride,” “the Queen of spades: Black rite”). The company was Yefim Petrunin (“denied!”), Nikita Elenev (“Junior”), Cecile Pleasure (“Savages”) and Sophia Shydlouskaya (episode “Split”).
Thanks to Instagram one more producer of the project, Inna Lipatnikova, we have a picture painted plates, which marks the beginning of the filming process. In addition, it also found a couple of shots a dark and very atmospheric locations. Check it out for yourself. Perhaps if you look at the photo with the lake very carefully, you get to see the mermaid tail…
