Sunday, July 22, at Cape Canaveral, the SpaceX company launched a Falcon 9 rocket with the Telstar satellite 19 Vantage, owned by the canadian company Telesat.
The satellite, developed by SpaceX for canadian Telecom operator, weighs more than seven tons. It’s the heaviest machine that the Falcon 9 rocket ever deduced into a geostationary orbit.
For today’s launch of the company Elon musk had to use a more powerful first stage of the rocket.
The new satellite is designed to transmit a signal to North and South America, and also needs to provide WiFi to passengers, which cross the Northern part of the Atlantic ocean.
It is expected that the canadian communications satellite will work in orbit for about 15 years.
