The conflict in the Donbas is likely to worsen.

In 2018, the conflict in the Donbas is likely to be exacerbated as tensions in the region grows.

This writes the former representative of Ukraine in the political subgroup of the trilateral contact group in Minsk, the diplomat Roman Immortal.

“Now more and more it becomes clear that Russian-Ukrainian war in the Donbas includes several elements of conflict. The first is, in fact, Russian-Ukrainian, the second conflict is regional (we are talking about the fate of Central Europe), and the third a continental conflict, and the fourth is global,” he explains.

Immortal stressed that Ukraine is a country which is located between the civilized European and the uncivilized world Asia: “This confrontation of the two systems. And what you do not take the aspect you will see everywhere in this conflict there are clearly two sides, starting from different values and ending with various meanings.”

“The analysis of the previous years of 2017 shows that all these components of the voltage increases. It is growing in Ukraine and in the region,” – said the diplomat.

“In Europe, look at the once prosperous Germany, where strange things happen. Europe in General has faced enormous tectonic shifts. Globally, the world is watching the confrontation between Washington and Moscow. And because the dynamics of all the components comes to aggravation, it means only one thing: the conflict in the Donbas in 2018 will not be settled and will escalate… As the Donbas, and in the world in 2018, we will see signs of worsening” – predicts policies.
