The son of the President “gathering information about the suitability of Clinton to the office.”
The eldest son of the President of the United States Donald trump Jr. for five hours on Thursday told members of the legal Committee of the U.S. Senate about his meeting with a Russian lawyer Natalia Veselnitskaya last year where, allegedly, there was a discussion about “dirt” on Hillary Clinton – a rival of his father in the presidential election.
In his introductory remarks, trump Jr. before the Committee, to hold an interview with him in a closed from the press, focused on meeting Veselnitskaya, a fact which interested the Senate Committee investigating possible Russian intervention in the elections of the President of the United States. While trump Jr. said that neither he nor anyone he knows, not colluded with any foreign government, writes “Radio Freedom”.
The son of the President explained the meeting with Russian counsel that during the election campaign gathered any available information about the “character, qualifications or fitness for office of the President” Hillary Clinton.
The interview was attended by some senators. One of them, democratic Senator Richard Blumenthal, told CNN that their answers trump Jr. just gave birth to a new set of questions. According to another democratic Senator Dianne Feinstein, trump Jr. is likely to be invited to testify again, but in this case it will be in open hearings. And Kushner and trump Jr. later said that the Russian lawyer did not have information that can hurt Clinton, and that conversation quickly turned into a discussion about the adoption of Russian children, which Moscow canceled in retaliation for the U.S. adoption of the law against those who violate human rights in Russia.
