Japan began the cherry blossoms – is the hot tourist season.
In Japan there is a record early flowering of Sakura in the last 15 years.
15 February in the town of Kawazu in Shizuoka Prefecture bloomed the first cherry blossoms mark the arrival of spring. Like many other Japanese cities, Kawazu holds an annual cherry blossom festival, which attracts about a million tourists coming to admire the beauty of the 800 cherry trees planted along the river Kawazu-gawa. This year the festival, which is held for the 27th time, will last until about March 10.
