The official premiere of the crossover, which will take the place of Yeti will be held on may 18.
Skoda company published a picture of the exterior and interior and provided details about its new crossover Karoq. The new name was borrowed from the language of the people of Alutiiq — an indigenous tribe inhabiting an island off the southern coast of Alaska. The official premiere of the car will take place on 18 may in Stockholm. Global sales of crossover will start in the second half of 2017.
In the model range of the Czech brand, the machine will take the place of the Yeti. The Assembly of this model will be manufactured at the factory in the Czech city Kvasiny. There’s currently released Roomster, Yeti current generation, Kodiaq and Superb. Prices for Skoda Karoq will be announced later.
Judging by the published photographs, the key design decisions, the novelty will borrow from the older model Kodiaq. The car will get a brand new led optics, chrome grille. Inside the crossover will install a digital dashboard, and a new infotainment system with interfaces support Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and MirrorLink. The driver will be available to help system with Parking monitoring function, lane traffic, recognition system “dead” zones, and the emergency braking function with the ability to recognize pedestrians.
The car will be built on a modular platform MQB. Overall length of new items will be 4382 mm, width — 1841 mm, height — 1605 mm. The wheelbase is 2630 mm. The Luggage compartment of the crossover amounted to 521 liters, and when folded the second row seats the capacity increases to 1630 liters. While the rear seats can be removed completely, which will increase boot volume to 1810 liters.
Technical characteristics of the car are still kept secret. According to unofficial data, will include five petrol and diesel for boosted engines with capacity from 115 to 190 horsepower. Including in the engine range will include the new 1.5-liter gasoline engine. The units will operate in conjunction with six-speed “mechanics” and with semidiapazonnym “robot” DSG.
