Skoda has unveiled its first electric crossover

The crossover will be the first electric vehicles of the company.

Skoda has released the first concept kupeobrazny crossover Vision E. the Premiere of the prototype which is the precursor to a production model, will take place at the Shanghai motor show in April.

Overall length of new items is 4645 mm, width — 1917 mm, height — 1550 mm, and the wheelbase up to 2850 mm. The design of the car, as the company says, is inspired by the Czech crystal glass.

Crossover is built on a “volkswagenaudi” MEB modular platform that was designed specifically for electric models and is also equipped with a system of Autonomous driving, allowing you to Park without the driver.

Four-wheel drive concept car is driven by a 306-horsepower electric propulsion powered by a set of lithium-ion batteries. Without charging the car can drive up to 500 kilometers. Maximum speed — 180 kilometers per hour.

According to the publication Auto Express, citing the head of the “Skoda” Bernhard Maier, the production version of the Vision E will appear in 2020. This will be the first fully electric model of the brand, which will be the basis of a family of similar machines.

Only by 2025 from the Czech company sales will have five electric cars. The electrification of the line will start plug-in-hybrid Suberb, due out in 2019.
