Six countries are denied the right to vote in the United Nations because of the debt

The right to vote they can return only after the payment of debts at least two years.

Six countries temporarily deprived of the right of voting at the UN General Assembly due to debts on membership fees.

Among the debtor countries, in particular Venezuela, Cabo Verde, Libya, Papua New Guinea, Sudan and Vanuatu.

The main debtor is Venezuela, which owed $ 24 million of membership dues.

As stated by the UN Secretary-General, antónio Guterres, these countries will return the right to vote if they pay the debt at least two years.

The annual contributions are calculated for each country individually.
