The incident occurred near the Temple mount.
Over the past two years attacks on Israeli police increased.
In Jerusalem near the Temple mount shooting occurred. Three people opened fire on police, killing two people and injuring another, and then were themselves killed.
According to police, the attackers suddenly started to shoot at Lion’s gate of the Old city, and then tried to escape on the Temple mount.
However, the police managed to find them, and in the shootout all three were killed.

The wounded were hospitalized, two of them subsequently died in hospital.
