Shlapak is not ready to lead the NBU

The head of PrivatBank commented on the rumors about the transition in the national Bank.

The Chairman of the Board of PrivatBank Oleksandr Shlapak not ready to become head of the National Bank of Ukraine.

He said this during a press conference on Tuesday.

“I’m not ready today to head the national Bank and do not want to do it,” – said Shlapak.

He added that while such proposals have been received.

We will remind, the acting head of the NBU, may 10, takes the Deputy Valeria Gontareva Yakov Smoliy. Gontareva, who has filed a letter of resignation April 10, is on a long vacation. On 11 may, the Minister of Finance of Ukraine Alexander danyluk said that the new Manager of the National Bank planned to appoint by September.

Oleksandr Shlapak was the head of the Board of PrivatBank from December 2016 to July 2017. Prior to that, he was Minister of Finance of Ukraine.
