The Pitmen’s head coach in an interview for British newspaper “The Telegraph” reported on the negotiations with “Shakhtar” on the new contract.
“I hope I will work in the EPL soon, but don’t know exactly when. The term of the contract with Shakhtar I have expires at the end of this season.
The club began negotiations with me. Let’s see what will happen next. Now I am concentrated on the championship and the Champions League,” said Fonseca.
The Portuguese headed Shakhtar on may 31 last year, taking over the coaching post of the Donetsk club titled Romanian coach Mircea Lucescu.
Under the leadership of Fonseca Shakhtar last season won the championship and the Ukrainian Cup and in the Europa League 1/16 finals lost to the Spanish “Celta”.
