Seven CIS countries have launched large-scale military exercises

Seven of the countries – participants of the CIS on Thursday began training in anti-aircraft defense (PVO) with up to 100 aircraft, including strategic bombers. This was reported in the defense Ministry.

“The exercise involved up to 100 fighter aircraft su-27, MiG-29, MiG-31, Yak-130 bombers su-24, su-34 attack aircraft su-25 long-range aircraft Tu-22, Tu-160, Tu-95, helicopters Ka-27, Mi-8 of armed forces of the Russian Federation, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, as well as units of Radiotechnical and antiaircraft missile forces, assigned to the joint air defense system from the States”, – said the defense Ministry.

The training started with the discovery of the Eastern European and Central Asian regions, targets of a conditional air attacks, “which perform the role of strategic missile carriers Tu-160 and Tu-95MS and Tu-22M3 long-range aviation of Russian air force”, the Ministry said.

The event will be worked out actions of rescue forces on aircraft that violate the state borders of the CIS countries, as well as stolen aircraft and in providing assistance to the crews of aircraft and helicopters in distress.

“Managing forces and means of air defense, involved in the teaching, is performed from the control Center Air and space forces, stationed in the city of Moscow”, – concluded the Russian defense Ministry.
