Last week, the media learned about the hospitalization of Manson in connection with the aggravation of diseases of the gastrointestinal tract, and even then, the doctors claimed that his death is a question of a few weeks. And they were right – Charlie Manson died at 84 year of life, as reported portal TMZ Debra Tate, sister of actress Sharon Tate, brutally murdered by followers of Manson.
When life on the outside Charles was the leader of a commune called “the Family”, who committed several brutal murders in California. He and his accomplices were arrested in 1969, they were indicted that none of the members of the “Family” did not deny. Manson and three of his followers were sentenced to death in the gas chamber, but in 1972 this penalty was abolished in California, in connection with which Charles received a life sentence.
After his arrest, Manson was often transferred from one prison to another where he remained mostly in solitary confinement. He repeatedly denied parole, and next time submit a petition he could not before 2027.
The case of the “Family” had an enormous influence on contemporary art. About the crimes of the commune written dozens of books, released several films (including the recent episode of “American horror story”, where the role of Charles was played by Evan Peters), Charles ‘ name was not once mentioned in the lyrics of musicians, from Leonard Cohen to Eminem. In addition, the alias of the leader of the band Marilyn Manson is partly based on the name of the killer.
