Workers of the Turkish company Bravo Tekstil produced clothing for Zara, Mango and several other famous brands.
“I made this thing for you, but I didn’t pay for it!” – such were the inscriptions on the tags that dressmaker put in pockets of clothing that were sold in Istanbul.
Bravo Tekstil company went bankrupt in July 2016. Her workers owed wages for three months, and additional compensation for the loss of the workplace.
Seamstress Filiz tut said that the management of the company has disappeared, so she and her colleagues had no choice but to draw the attention of the public.
They did it because users of social networks, which found the notes in the clothes, started a flash mob #BravoIscileriIcinAdalet (# СправедливистьДляПрацивникивBravo).
An online petition where concerned are required to pay all the debts seamstresses, has supported over 270,000 people.
Zara, in turn, said that the debts repaid Bravo, and for those who still need financial assistance, there is a Fund of 210 thousand euros.
The company’s Union said that the Fund is able to cover only 25% of losses, so the protests can continue.
