On unique images capture the dark side of the planet.
NASA presented one of the latest images of Saturn, taken by Cassini station before it burned up in the atmosphere of the planet. The image was published on the Agency’s website.
The station did the 7 of June, being at a distance of 1.21 million kilometers from the surface of Saturn.
15 Sep Cassini burned in the upper atmosphere of the planet.
Space station, Cassini-Huygens, worth more than three billion dollars, was launched in 1997 to study Saturn and its moon Titan.
Cassini is named after the Italian scientist Jean Domenico Cassini, who proved that the ring of Saturn consists of two parts separated by a dark band (Cassini’s division), also suggesting that the rings of Saturn are composed of parts of various sizes.
Cassini-Huygens is one of the most ambitious space missions ever launched into space. She was filled with a huge number of instruments and cameras for accurate measurement and high-quality images in different atmospheric conditions and the color spectrum.
