Norwegian scientists have solved an interesting mystery in the Arctic
According to geophysicists, the craters on the seabed, perhaps as a consequence of the big Bang that occurred at the end of the last ice age. The result of what was happening at the time of natural processes has been a breakdown of gas hydrates, which caused the release of methane and as a result, the change in elevation.
The specialists examined in the study, more than a hundred craters in the Barents sea with a diameter from 30 to 1000 meters. Scientists estimate that the huge explosions of gas bubbles took place about 11 thousand years ago. It is known that such gas hydrates are plentiful in Siberia, but their sizes are much smaller.
