Millions of Britons could be descendants of the Vikings, especially if their name ends in “son”

According to a survey of 2 million people, 56% admit that they would like to know that they are descendants of Scandinavians.
It also became known that nearly four out of ten think that the Vikings look like the stereotypical image of a hefty man with blond hair and a big beard.
And only one in 20 knew that Vikings bleached their hair to appear more threatening in battle.
“The people of the Viking age did not have names, but instead they used a system of patronymics, where children were named after their father and sometimes their mother,” — said the scientists.
