Conclusions of scientists are based on data from spacecraft Hubble and Cassini
On Jupiter’s moon Europa and Saturn’s moon Enceladus has the conditions for the existence of life.
It on a press-conferences were reported by the researchers at NASA.
“We took a big step forward in understanding how the oceans in the Solar system. We were looking for water in the first place on Mars, but it turned out that we will find the amazing oceans that are located deep under the surface of the planets,” – said the scientists.
Observations of the satellites of Jupiter and Saturn has devoted several NASA missions.
Space telescope Hubble found that the warmest portion of the surface of the satellite Europe appeared water loop.
With the help of the spacecraft Cassini found numerous hydrogen molecules in the jets of water rising from the fractures on the icy surface of Enceladus.
Europe is one of six moons of Jupiter, which is among the four largest (Galilean satellites). It is almost comparable to the size of the moon, its diameter is 3122 km.
Enceladus the sixth largest moon of Saturn, its diameter is about 500 km.
