Electronic cigarettes accelerate aging of blood vessels.
American researchers believe that Smoking electronic cigarettes accelerates the aging of arteries and veins.
To such conclusion scientists from the University of West Virginia.
The researchers studied the diameter of the arteries, the ability of blood vessels to expand and the stiffness of the aorta in female mice after short-term and long-term effects flavored vapor electronic cigarette. Scientists discovered that the diameter and bandwidth of the arteries was reduced by 30% after a five-minute exposure to vapor electronic cigarettes.
The vessels of the body mice become more stringent, which made the rodents more likely to develop hypertension and other diseases of the cardiovascular system. These effects increased with chronic use of wapow.
“These data indicate that electronic cigarettes should not be considered safe, and that they cause a significant negative impact on the functioning of blood vessels,” says one of the authors, Professor mark Alpert from West Virginia University.
