About extinct species, mostly you can learn from the preserved bones, but the remains of meat or feathers are extremely rare, especially when we are talking about species of extinct millions of years ago. The 2008 study is a miracle, which put t-Rex somewhere between alligators and ostriches. But anything is not alien to controversy, because some critics, who claimed that such results were not similar, and contamination in the laboratory, prompted scientists to new research and, perhaps, rewatching old results.

The researchers analyzed bone samples from three different specimens of the ostrich, and found that the peptides greatly inferior to the fossil of T-Rex, as well as other samples of collagen, which the team found late.

“The fossil record offers new information daily through the use of new technologies, but we must never forget that when the results show us what we really want to see, we should not be confident in our interpretation,” says Phil manning, co-author of the study.
