Canadian scientists-paleontologists have discovered the fossilized remains of an ancient arthropod from 50 feet.
The age of the ancestor of the arthropods, namely ivanonich, estimated at more than 500 million years.
An ancient creature, which was called Tokummia katalepsis, was found in the canyon Kootenay national Park. Researchers of the University of Toronto undertook a preliminary analysis of the findings, the result of which found that arthropod was 50 feet, not like can openers claws and large sink.
Paleontologists believe that Tokummia katalepsis was quite large Raptor, body length of which was about ten of sentimentality. Presumably, the creature lived in tropical seas. While hunting the creature buried in the mud, and at the sight of prey, which most often was helpless, suddenly, he is attacked by. Such a choice of food due to the fact that the claws of the representative ivanonich was pretty fragile, and with their help he was able to cut only soft tissue.
Cédric Aria, one of the authors of the study, added that the diversity galenovich quite extensive. So, representatives of this subtype are crayfish, ants and flies. Also, scientists were able to find out about appearance Tokummia katalepsis and presented his vision of using the mounted video.
