According to the researchers, this form, which even has no name, lives in the colder and deeper waters than the usual giant octopus. Therefore, according to oceanographers, it is not seen by the divers. At the moment scientists have six specimens of a new species of cephalopod. They were caught by fishermen in Alaska, along with fifteen species of giant octopus.

Most individuals nameless octopus was a female, the weight of which exceeds two kilograms. Now scientists have a description of a new species, and a study of its natural habitat. At the moment, oceanographers, even approximately I can not call the number.
