Scientists call a sign of impending death

Women who have been diagnosed with restless leg syndrome, the risk of death from cardiovascular disease was 43% higher.

American scientists came to the conclusion that restless legs syndrome (PRS), which in a lying or sitting position there are unpleasant sensations in the lower extremities, associated with an increased risk of death from cardiovascular disease in women. The authors, who published in the journal Neurology.

The researchers analyzed data from long-term studies Nurses’ Health Study, which involved 57 417 women with an average age of 67. Since 2002 every two years, volunteers were sent questionnaires in which they had to indicate the state of health, including to clarify whether they have SC, as well as cardiovascular disease. During 10 years of follow-up was recorded on 6 448 deaths.

It turned out that women who have been diagnosed with restless leg syndrome, the risk of death from cardiovascular disease was 43% higher than those who did not have SC. The connection between the syndrome and mortality from cancer and other causes was found.
